Locate the affected material
Look at stored clothing, carpet edges and seldom-disturbed textiles. Record damage and visible larvae or cases; not every moth indoors is a fabric pest.
Protect unaffected belongings
Ask for handling and cleaning guidance suited to the material. Check care labels and avoid moving suspect items into new storage without inspection.
Find the source
Describe affected rooms, storage periods and materials to the assessor. A plan should cover inspection and follow-up as well as the visible damaged item.
