Identify the animal
Loft sounds can have different causes. Record timing and possible entry locations from ground level, and arrange identification rather than assuming squirrels.
Avoid disturbing active access
Do not enter unsafe loft areas or seal suspected active wildlife access without professional advice. Describe damaged materials or inaccessible spaces when arranging the assessment.
Coordinate removal and repair
Ask the appointed specialist about applicable wildlife requirements, access, treatment of affected materials and when proofing can be completed safely.
